The joint approach by the Brisbane City Council and the State Government to change urban speed limits is now in place. Connecting roads will remain at 60kph or increase to 70kph, while the quieter suburban streets will have a limit of 50kph.
Of course, you can’t legislate against stupid motorists driving recklessly. However, Cr Kim Flesser hopes that this initiative will not only make our suburbs and streets safer, but it will have a positive effect on the quality of life for residents as well.
Northgate Ward residents wanting to know more information on speed limits for individual streets are welcome to contact Cr Kim Flesser at the Northgate Ward Office on 34032210.
