The main entry to the Boondall Wetlands trail is the ramp on Nudgee Creek at the end of O’Quinn Street (not wheelchair accessible).
There are a number of route options for trail users:
•Section 1 extends down Nudgee Creek from the access ramp to the portage to Nundah Creek;
•Section 2 extends up Nundah Creek as far as the casuarina forest;
•Section 3 extends from the portage down Nundah Creek to Cabbage Tree Creek. At high tide you can also explore Nudgee Creek upstream. At low tide you will see wading birds and crabs on the muddy banks. At high tide, you will be canoeing past flooded forests. The rising and falling tides give two very different waterways experiences, but paddling will be easier if you plan your trip to go with the tide.
The banks are easily eroded so care for the Wetlands by entering and exiting the trails only at designated ramps. |
