The Council Cab is Brisbane City Council’s shared transport service for those who find it difficult to travel to and from local facilities such as shops and banks.
Catchment Areas -
Nundah/Northgate Council Cab (East of North Coast Railway Line)
Wavell Heights District Council Cab (West of North Coast Railway Line).
Banyo/Nudgee Council Cab (Banyo, Nudgee, Nudgee Beach and Virginia, north of the North Coast Railway Line).
Kedron/Chermside District Council Cab (Kedron)
You can use the Council Cab if you live a catchment area and are;
¨ Over 60 ¨ Mobility impaired, or ¨ Hold a Pension Concession Card, or ¨ a carer or minor accompanying someone who is eligible.
From 9.00am each Tuesday and Thursday, the Council Cab will pick you up from your home and take you to the Nundah Village Shopping Centre or Toombul Shopping Centre. The Kedron service travels to Chermside Shopping Centre.
Each one way trip costs $1.50. The fare is paid on entry to the cab.
Yes, you need to book the Council Cab. Seats are limited.
You can book up to 2pm on the Wednesday before the service.
To book, contact the Yellow Cabs on 136 294 and request the Council Cab.
If you have a hearing impediment, you can book through the ACE TTY service on 133 677.
This important service has been provided to our less mobile residents as part of Brisbane City Council’s ‘Accessible City’ strategy in the Living in Brisbane 2010 plan.
It’s important the community takes full advantage of the Council Cab to ensure its continued funding. |
