Current budget submissions for Northgate made on behalf of Northgate Ward Residents:-
(Please note that these are only submissions - funding is subject to the Council budget processes).
* Widening of Pound Drain, to better handle floodwaters. * Redesign of the Flower St Park Skatebowl (Northgate). The existing skatebowl is too difficult to use for the vast majority of local users. * Traffic management for Northgate Road Northgate consider reducing speed limit to 50kph. * Resurfacing of Northgate Road adjacent to and across the rail crossing. * Upgrading of Progress Park Northgate – new play equipment, etc. * Resurfacing of Belmore St Northgate (also needs repairs to kerb and channelling). * Upgrading of the stormwater drain that runs between Parker Avenue and Carter Street, which drains a large area of Northgate East. * Traffic management for Gympie St Northgate. * Redesign of the Plaisted Place Skate Bowl (Northgate) to reduce the steep angles in the bowl to allow younger skaters to use the facility. * Widen the bridge on Nudgee Road at Northgate and provide footpaths for pedestrians and cyclists. * Undertake a traffic management plan for the area between Sandgate Road and Ryans Road Nundah and Northgate, with the view to implementing traffic management devices where appropriate. * Consider a Resident’s Parking Permit Scheme around the railway station. Encourgae QR to construct more off-street parking. * New bikeway along Cannery creek. * New bikeway from Nudgee Rd to the Jim Soorley Bikeway. * New bikeway from Edgar St to Nudgee Rd. * Cyclist/pedestrian bridge at Pound Drain adjacent to Nudgee Rd. * New bus shelter on Oates Pde near Stark Rd
