Infrastructure issues for Chermside -
* A part of Chermside will be included in Northgate Ward as part of the Ward Boundary Redistribution. This will take effect from 15th March 2008. The new section of Chermside to come into Northgate Ward is to the east of Gympie Rd, between Hamilton Rd and Edinburgh Castle Rd.
* Burnie Brae Park - Work is currently being undertaken to redevelop Burnie Brae Park. I’m keen to hear from local residents on the draft plans to redevelop the park to include a community garden. The new facility will allow members of the centre to be actively involved in gardening, and will provide a peaceful place for them and other local residents to enjoy.
The garden will include citrus fruit trees, mulberry trees, vegetable gardens, seating, pathways, shelter, rainwater tanks and interpretive signage.
As Burnie Brae Park will become part of Northgate Ward early next year, funding for the upgrade will be required from the Northgate Ward Parks Trust Fund.
